What We Need:
Obagi is seeking a resourceful Procurement Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit to own and support supply chain initiatives surrounding new product development, launches, tech transfers, and holiday promotions. Responsible for driving strategic alignment with key stakeholders, the Procurement Manager will own the end-to-end sourcing process which includes: sourcing new products, managing global manufacturing contracts, and meeting outlined KPIs to ultimately increase efficiency and cost effectiveness.
 
What You’ll Do:
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for raw materials (actives, excipients, fragrances), packaging components (bottles, tubes, cartons, labels), and contract manufacturing services
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to optimize cost, quality, and lead time
  • Manage supplier performance through scorecards, KPIs, and regular business reviews
  • Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and supply risks (e.g., raw material shortages, geopolitical disruptions) and develop mitigation strategies
  • Manage supplier qualification and validation processes, including documentation for quality and compliance audits
  • Drive cost-savings initiatives and value engineering opportunities without compromising product quality
  • Support new product development (NPD) by sourcing new ingredients/packaging and managing supplier timelines
  • Maintain procurement records, contracts, and supplier agreements in compliance with company policy
  • Manage inventory planning in coordination with S&OP to avoid stockouts or excess/obsolete (E&O) inventory
  • Maintain and minimize liabilities at CMO site
  • Lead or support RFPs/RFQs for strategic sourcing initiatives
What You’ll Need:
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required; a focus in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or similar related fields strongly preferred.
  • At least 5-7+ years of relevant experience in supply chain management, sourcing, packaging, and project management, with an emphasis in Operations and Distribution.
    • Clear understanding of primary packaging, formula compatibility, and secondary packaging for finished goods.
    • CPG and experience with cosmetics, drug/OTC, prescription Rx and Pharmaceutical products highly preferred.   
  • Solid working knowledge domestic and international sourcing experience including turnkey products.
  • Strong qualitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills with demonstrated use of analysis and metrics to drive continuous improvement and decision making.
  • Polished negotiation skills and a proven track record of building rapport and managing external relationships.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization/time management skills; demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast paced, ever-changing environment; someone who thrives in ambiguity and adapts quickly.
  • Proficiency in Oracle, NetSuite, and warehouse management systems as well as Tableau and/or Business Intelligence reporting tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other technologies.
  • Flexibility with working with multiple time zones.
  • Possess an energetic, positive attitude that encourages a team and supports the growth and professional development of others.
